The Aardvark: A South African MammaL

This animal is also named antbear or Cape AntEater after the Cape of Good Hope. 
Aardvarks have cylindrical shaped teeth that continue to grow through its lifetime!

Aardvarks live in African savannas, open grasslands, woodlands, and scrub, from southern Egypt to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.


It is a nocturnal animal which lives below the ground in burrows. It can weight between 40 and 65 kg and measures 1-1.30 metres. It eats ants of course!

The only fruit that an Aardvark eats is the Aardvark cucumber (Cucumis humifructus
