Armadillo Girdled Lizard: South African Endemic Reptile

Also known as the Golden Armadillo Lizard, Armadillo Spiny Tailed Lizard or Armadillo Lizard is a desert reptile measuring only 16-21 cm (6.5-8.5 in).

This species does not lay eggs; it gives birth to one or two live young fed by the mother, something very unusual for a lizard.
