Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, Comte de Saint Exupéry, was a French aristocrat and pioneering aviator.
He was also one of France's highest literary awarded authors and a U.S.National Book Award winner.
His 1939 philosophical book Terre des hommes became the name of an international humanitarian group and the central theme for the Expo 1967 in Montreal, Canada.
He disappeared over the Mediterranean on an exploratory military survey of enemy territory in July 1944.
